QR Code Doorbell

Get a QR Code Doorbell to let visitors at your door send you videos and messages straight to your smartphone and respond seamlessly.

QR Code Doorbell lets visitors at your door announce their arrival by scanning a printable QR code flyer to send videos or messages up to 30 seconds long. Reply from your smartphone seamlessly. No hardware, no drilling, no setup.

Visitors need a smartphone and an internet connection. They scan the flyer and actively choose to send you a video or text. QR Code Doorbell is not a continuous camera and does not record your property.

Using a computer or smartphone?

Subscribers can use a computer: Explore the site, watch our ad, create an account, and subscribe and pay. Once subscribed, sign in on a computer or smartphone to manage your account, view saved previous visits and conversations, and send text or video replies to visitors. You can also print your QR code flyer from a computer.

Visitors need a smartphone: Visitors scan the flyer at your property to start a visit and send text or video messages. Visitor replies and check-ins also require a smartphone, even when the subscriber replies from a computer. Subscribers should set up alerts on their smartphone to be notified while away from their computer. An internet connection is required.

Computer visitor access is read-only: an unexpired conversation already saved in that browser can be viewed, but visitors cannot start a visit, reply, or check in. Visitor conversations do not automatically transfer between devices; subscribers can access their saved visits by signing in.

When the property's location requirement is enabled, visitors must also confirm they are nearby. Opening a saved QR code photo does not bypass that location check.

See It in Action: A Real Flyer Scan

Watch a visitor scan a QR Code Doorbell flyer right from their phone.

Visitors announce themselves

Guests scan your QR code and send a 30-second video or a short message. No app or account needed for them.

You respond instantly

Get notified, watch, and reply by video or text. No hardware needed.

Please tap both of these before you start. They're required for alerts to reach you.

Print your QR code flyer

Get a personal QR code flyer to place at your front door. QR Code Doorbell creates your flyer for you automatically, complete with your own unique QR code. There's nothing to design or figure out.

Download it straight to your device's Downloads folder and to your phone's photo gallery with one tap. No printer? No problem. Share your flyer with a print shop like Staples, FedEx Office, or The UPS Store, and they'll print it for you.

And print as many copies as you need. One flyer works for every door, entrance, gate, or window you want to cover, at no extra cost.

One account, many doors, one price

Your $0.99 per month covers your whole household. Add family members or roommates so everyone gets the alerts and can reply, and print your same QR code flyer for as many entrances as you like: front door, side door, garage, back gate, even a guest house.

Other QR code doorbell apps charge extra per user or per entry point. We don't.

You decide who can reach you

If someone you'd rather not hear from rings your doorbell, block them with one tap from their conversation. They can't ring your doorbell or send you messages again, and you can unblock anyone anytime from your account.

Quiet hours whenever you need them

Sleeping, working, or just not up for company? Flip on Quiet Hours from your Account page. Visitors who scan your QR code see a polite quiet hours notice, and your phone stays silent, with no alerts at all.

Remember to toggle Quiet Hours back off when you're done so your alerts start coming through again.

Visitors can ask for a specific person

Add everyone who lives or works at your property to your account. When a visitor scans your QR code, they'll be asked who they're here to see (Mom, Dad, a roommate, a teenager, whoever) before they record their video or type their message.

That way the right person knows the visit is for them, and nobody has to guess.

Give everyone a role visitors recognize

Alongside each person's name you can pick a role (Mom, Dad, Grandma, Son, Daughter, Sister, Brother, Spouse, Roommate, Caregiver, and more) or type one of your own if none of ours fits your property. Even if you're the only one on the account, you can add a role for yourself.

Visitors see the name and role together, like "Kim (Mom)," when they choose who they came to see. A delivery driver, a grandchild's friend, or a neighbor never has to wonder which name to tap.

Show who's available right now

Each person on your account gets a simple status you can flip any time: Available, Not available, or Not here. Visitors see that status next to each name when they pick who they came to see, so they know before they ever knock.

Working from home, napping, or out running errands? Change your status in one tap from your Account page.

Label the visitors who come back

Recognize someone from a past visit? Tag them as a friend, relative, significant other, neighbor, coworker, delivery driver, contractor, caregiver, solicitor, or type your own label. Next time they scan your flyer, their label shows up right beside their name.

Labels are personal: every person on your account keeps their own. Your sister can be "Sis" to you and "Aunt Kim" to your kids. Nobody has to agree on one label.

A check-in only counts at your property

A screenshot of the QR code shouldn't be an alibi. Save your street address, city, state, and ZIP, then pin your property's location once while you're standing there. From that point on, a check-in is only accepted when the phone doing the scanning is actually at your property.

You decide how close to your property a phone has to be, and anyone trying to check in from a friend's house or across town is politely told they're not at your property yet. Nothing is logged and no alert goes out.

You can put the same check to work on ordinary visitors, too. Turn it on and any ring that didn't come from your doorstep (someone using a forwarded photo of your flyer, for instance) arrives on your dashboard marked "Location not confirmed." Real visitors are never turned away: a delivery driver whose phone won't share its location still reaches you, so you gain the extra context without ever missing a message.

Only ring when they're actually at your door

Turn on "Turn away rings that aren't at your property" and your doorbell simply won't ring for anyone who isn't there. Someone who saved a photo of your flyer, or who won't share their location, is politely told the doorbell only works at the door, and nothing reaches your phone at all. Prank rings from across town stop before they ever become a notification.

You choose how close is close enough

The distance you set is a maximum, not a minimum: anyone closer than it gets through. We suggest 300 feet, which blocks someone scanning a copy of your flyer from home while making sure phone GPS never turns away a real visitor standing on your mat. Bigger properties, apartments, or covered porches can go up to about 600 feet, and you can change the number any time from your account, with no need to step outside.

Great for businesses too: same $0.99 a month

QR Code Doorbell isn't just for homes. Shops, salons, clinics, studios, warehouses, and offices use it the same way, at the very same price: no extra business plan, no hardware, no wiring.

Print as many QR code flyers as you need and post them wherever people arrive: the front entrance, the side or back door, the loading dock, the lobby, a reception desk that isn't always staffed, or the door of any individual office. Whoever shows up scans, says who they are and why they're there by short video or message, and the right person gets an instant alert on their phone and can answer right away.

Know the moment your kids arrive

Curfew check-in turns the same flyer into a way for children and grandchildren to say "I'm here." They scan the QR code at the door, tap their name, and your phone buzzes right away with the exact date and time they walked in. No phone call, no texting, no wondering.

You choose who checks in and who gets the alert, so it can ring one parent, a grandparent, an aunt, uncle, or any guardian instead of everyone on the account. Times are stamped in your own time zone (Eastern by default), and every arrival is saved in a Check-ins log you can look back through anytime.

Visiting someone? Just scan the QR code on their door, no account needed.
